Monochromatic Paintings

A new experiment we tried out for working with monochromatic colors and watercolor paints:



We also talked about how colors can call up feelings or imagery that are different for each person. Students incorporated this concept into their finished pieces as well.

Color theory paintings

Here are some of our most recent color theory paintings:


For this project we focused on color theory, including primary, secondary, tertiary/intermediate, complementary, warm/cool, and monochromatic color schemes. We also talked about symmetry and observational drawing.

Pop Art Portraits

We're just finishing up some portraits inspired by Roy Lichtenstein. Here are a few that have been finished so far:


We focused on primary colors, pattern, facial proportion, and of course the work of Roy Lichtenstein. Plus the students got to inject a fun dose of their sparkling personalities!
